La feria en Marbella

!Hola amigos!
Last Monday night we went to the start of the "feria" in Marbella. The opening was on the beach with lots and lots of fireworks. It was amazing...although it sounded like war begun... After that, there were bands playing, but unfortunately no flamenco... yet... So around 01.00 we went back to our hotel and had a good night sleep.
On Tuesday we sat around the pool and talked with the crazy Belgians. It was their last day, so we decided to go for drinks that night with them. Another Belgian couple joined us that night and believe it or not... this guy was an "Urbanus" look-alike, he even sounded the same and had the same dry sense of humor. We had a great night with lots of "malaga" to drink (some kind of port wine).
So Tuesday went and Wednesday came... the clock is ticking... we decided to stay here at the pool enjoy the sun a little bit more (and the freeeeeeezing cold water... WOW, that's completely the opposite of what we experienced in our last holidays... In Malaysia etc. we had almost HOT water in the pool....) At night we had some drinks with "Urbanus" and his wife and we got quite acquainted with Ezio and Omar of the hotel staff. Ezio is an Italian, working here in Spain (he's been here for 2 years) and Omar is an Iraqi, normally living in Holland, but is here as an intern. Both really nice guys, we had some good laughs with them and somehow I ended up making the announcement board for the Football match tomorrow evening... hmm... maybe I can stay here and help around....?!?!?!?
Anyway, we still wanted to go back to the feria in Marbella to watch some Flamenco, so we made an appointment with Omar to go together today.
So this afternoon we went back there. It was really crowded, there were bands playing everywhere and there were a lot of stages on which a lot of Flamenco dancing was going on. It was really great to see, although I felt a bit out of place... and just when we decided to go back to the hotel, some guy came over to me, gave me a smile and a wink and wanted to hit the "flamenco dance floor" together with me... ha,ha, he thought I was Spanish... well, I'm flattered, but NO I'm not... and there's a lot of dancing which I can do or at least handle... but flamenco... hmm... that's something completely out of my league, so I laught nicely and left him.
Well.... that's about it...seems that our Spanish adventure is really coming to an end :'( Tomorrow is our last day and on Saturdaymorning we will fly back to Holland...
It was nice of you all to send messages (sms or by mail), we enjoyed it a lot. Now we will soon talk to you in person!

Hee Lydje en Moes
Leuk dat jullie ook een eigen site hebben, blijft bijzonder. Andalusia is heel mooi he. Ben er zelf ook geweest, in Benalmadena Pueblo hadden we ons hotelletje. Granada konden we geen tickets meer krijgen (wat een gedoe ook) en verder in Marbella en Mijas geweest. Dat was het leukste dorpje, misschien zijn jullie daar ook geweest.
Waarom alle verhalen in het Engels, voor je collega's of zo?
Jammer dat jullie reis ten einde is, wij hebben nog 1 weekje te gaan:smile:
