Hello to you all!
Wednesday morning we left to start the big adventure. We first went to Dreamworld (theme park). It was on our way down south, so we thought it would be nice. Actually, it's a small park, with some rollercoasters and they have some Tigers over there. The rollercoasters were not so good, we thought that all of them were a bit lame... or are we too spoilt??? BUT, I could cuddle a koala there... oohhhh... I keep saying this, but they're sooooo sweet! And they look sooooo CUTE! Of course we had our picture taken with the koala, so I keep looking at it! (Did I tell you how cute they are... ;-)) When we were walking around in the wildlife area, I hear Mostafa shout "whooooo ooohhhh" ??? So, just when I wanted to turn my head, I knew immediately what was going on... we were run over by 2 kangoroos... ha,ha,haaa... we really had to jump out of their way! After we've seen all the rides etc. we decided to drive further south, checking out the beach boys and beach babes in Surfers Paradise. We noticed that the beach over there is extremely clean, also the city itself looks terrific!
After a night sleep (where by the way, above our hotel door was an extremely scary spider... !!!!!) we were headed for Lamington National Park. This was an absolute high light of our first couple of days! In Lamington we saw a lot of beautifully coloured parrots, we saw brush turkeys, we saw wallabies etc. etc. etc. In Lamington we did the tree top walk, which was nice, but not spectacular, but after that, we went to Morans falls. Also situated in Lamington. Actually we thought that it would be just some nice waterfall, but when we finally arrived, it seemed to be a very impressive, very big waterfall. It was absolutely beautiful! And just as we arrived an eagle was flying above the waterfall, really terrific! After enjoying the beautiful nature of Lamington, we started to drive further down south, where in the evening we ended up in Byron Bay.
Byron Bay is a small beach town. There are a lot of hippies running around and a lot of surf dudes. The atmosphere in the town is really relaxed. Relax to the max :) Afert checking in to our motel, we walked to the beach were the moon was just rising, which gave a really wonderfull view!
This morning we started with a nice walk along the beach. We stayed here for a couple of hours, but since today we had a lot of driving to do, we left Byron bay around 12.00.
And now we stranded in Kempsey. A little town, not much to do or see, but just good to sleep.
